I always find these videos very interesting because I have worked in the military/defense industry and have an engineering background. I have known most of these future technologies have been around for a while such as: retina replacement, cloaking methods, robotics, hover devices, etc. However, I never knew about force fields and 3D printing organs. As a Mechanical Engineer I have used 3D printing because it allows us to get the look and feel of a device that we are designing, while significantly reducing the cost of having it made.

According to me, these technologies hold the key to the future and the advancement of mankind. For example, robotics would reduce the number of activities humans have to do themselves. This would save time and money. This would also give us more time to invest in more productive activities and thus, increase efficiency. However, there are cons. These include the loss of certain jobs. Moreover, the disposal of these robotics could be a serious threat to the environment. Not to mention, the increased amount of electricity or batteries to be used for these. I sometimes ponder over how good are some of the available or future technologies to the human race.

I'm sure these technologies are going to play a vital role in our future. While these are things we've thought about potentially using in the future, I had no idea that they already existed. The only one that I already knew aboutwas thought controlled prosthetics. As for the new-to-me ideas, with family members in the military, the idea of force fields is fascinating. Personally, I'd be pretty excited to drive a hover car. Imagine driving down the highway behind that annoying car in the left lane that just won't get over. I wonder if you could potentially just leap frog them and get on your way?
